Early Careers Programmes

We build and oversee initiatives for early career development, aiming to empower underserved groups while nurturing top-tier talent and preparing them for the workforce.

Work Experience

  • Up to 10 spaces

  • Two-week Programme spent understanding the company, doing small tasks and/or working on an industry project.

  • We screen candidates and do interviews in line with client specifications

  • We facilitate onboarding candidates and train them for workplace etiquette, maximising their chances of succeeding and completing the programme.

  • We check-in to track the progress of the candidate.

  • Vela pays each candidate £300 for completing the Work Experience Programme

Writing an application

Apprenticeships

  • Up to 10 spaces.

  • 12-week mentoring programme (1 hour bi-weekly).

  • Virtual and/or in-person sessions

  • Mentors are onboarded and trained.

  • Matches based on mentee preference (gender/ethnicity).

  • Resources provided to support topics and guidance..

  • Mentor and Mentee feedback collected.

Meeting

Mentorships

  • First intake September 2024

  • Up to 5 spaces

  • 18-month placement in a junior role while learning on-the-job.

  • Convert junior roles into apprenticeship placements

  • We screen candidates and do interviews in line with client specifications.

  • Final stages interviews with client.

  • We facilitate onboarding candidates and train them for workplace etiquette, maximising their chances of succeeding and completing the apprenticeship.

  • We do monthly check-ins to track the progress of the candidate.

  • In partnership with apprenticeship provider

We also facilitate bespoke immersion days where we open the working environment to 20-30 young people to learn about the company through engaging talks and activities.
